Policy Manager
Salary: Circa £38,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
Location: London (with hybrid working)
Contract: 12 month FTC
Position:
Our charity client is recruiting a Policy Manager. This role is responsible for managing and delivering our client’s policy agenda; working with and advising the Director of Policy and Director of Communications and other senior staff to shape the organisation’s internal and external engagement with key issues. You will take part in developing relationships with key political figures and other relevant external stakeholders. You will also analyse government policy, facilitate research and help shape the charity’s responses to legislation and consultations. You will support the work of the charity by drafting responses to external consultations and gather data by scanning parliamentary and research environments in order to identify issues, which may impact the charity’s activities. In addition, you will undertake policy development tasks such as researching, writing and finalising briefing papers and statements and review the charity’s policy pages on their website.
Requirements:
- You will have an excellent track record working with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
- You will have experience of lobbying and advocacy at a national and regional level.
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationships with politicians, civil servants and your peers within the sector.
- You will be energetic and hard-working; a dedicated and imaginative self-starter with great political antennae, an eye for detail as well as the ability to see the big picture.
