Advocacy and Policy Advisor

Salary: £41,600 pro rata

Position:  Part Time 21 hours/week, FTC 8 Months

The position:

Our well-established international development charity client is recruiting an Advocacy and Policy Advisor to join their team.  In this exciting role, you will develop and implement policy and advocacy strategies, monitor the global gender sector and ensure that the charity’s work is visible within this. You will lead the policy development and messaging on gender equality for the UK government, and you will provide strategic analysis on policy development relating to the charity’s work on gender equality.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of policy processes and institutions concerning gender equality and an understanding of the humanitarian policy discourse on girl’s rights.
  • You will have previous experience of working in a policy or advocacy role in another NGO.
  • You will have strong experience undertaking policy analysis and writing policy briefings on international development and humanitarian policy.
  • Experience of advocacy work on issues concerning girls’ rights.
  • Experience of managing influencing relationships and coordinating networks and coalitions.
